Congress Urges Extension Of FEMA Deadline For Maria Victims

Eight members of Congress from Florida are urging FEMA and the Governor of Puerto Rico to extend the Transitional Sheltering Assistance program for Hurricane Maria victims. The TSA deadline is tomorrow, but the lawmakers want it pushed back until at least the end of the school year for mainland states.  After the hurricane devastated Puerto Rico, more than 10,000 students from the island enrolled in Florida schools.

The Congress members say those children have already had their lives disrupted by Maria and deserve the opportunity to complete their school year.
