A Florida man is behind bars after he reportedly assaulted a St. Petersburg police officer -- with a hot dog.
Hot dog vendor Jason Stoll, 47, was peddling his food late Saturday night when he was approached by officers, who told him his permit had expired, according to police. Although an officer told Stoll to put down the hot dog he was holding, the vendor refused and "continued to try and sell it," an arrest affidavit reveals. "The defendant became extremely upset and intentionally threw the hot dog at an officer," per the affidavit. Police add there was "an indication of alcohol influence."
Stoll is now facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer. The police officer was not injured by the hot dog.
