Between the Buried and Me - Coma Ecliptic

Between the Buried and Me (BTBAM) brought us another progressive masterpiece in 2015 with Coma Ecliptic. I was a bit late the game in listening to it, so I heard many of the tracks live for my first listen through.

And oh, did The Coma Machine stand out. Everyone's heads at Stage AE involuntarily bobbing along with that groove.

Any and every time I see BTBAM, I stand in the back, with the Mathletes. It's quite the hybrid of attendees at their shows. For lack of better terms, it's Meathead metal lovers, and it's Mathletes. Yes, peppered in are the usual "black-shirts" as our very own Abby calls them.

They're one of the tightest bands I've ever seen live.

After that 2015 show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, I was hooked on the album for a year straight. Anyway, it always takes a few listens to get used to what the band is offering you.

Want in?

I mentioned The Coma Machine. (Let the short pretty intro of Node lead you into it). Memory Palace is palatable for beginners. King Redeem/Queen Serene is my favorite.
